A Christmas Memory and Stubby Pringle's Christmas
told by storyteller Dolores Hydock
For many people at Christmas time, certain stories "make" the season. One long-time favorite is Truman Capote's A Christmas Memory, a charming, tender memory of an old-fashioned Christmas and once-in-a-lifetime friendship set in 1930s Monroeville, Alabama. Another "every year" story for many people is Stubby Pringle's Christmas, a joyful story of a young cowhand finding the Christmas spirit in an unexpected place. Storyteller Dolores Hydock brings both these stories to the Trussville Public Library on Tuesday, December 6th, from 6:30PM- 7:30PM in the LBK Auditorium. Apple cider and light refreshments will be served!
Dolores Hydock is an Alabama storyteller! Her shows and stories have been featured at conferences, festivals, and special events throughout the United States, including the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. She has collaborated with the Birmingham Museum of Art to blend stories with special exhibits, and her Christmas story special airs annually on NPR-affiliate WBHM. Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania, Dolores now lives in Irondale.
