The LSTA Grant Project focused on updating and expanding the Children’s department audiobook and mixed media collection. The library was able to add Playaway audiobook devices, giving children easier access to audiobooks without the need for additional devices. Additional titles were also purchased on Overdrive that can be accessed through the Libby app.

Beyond audiobooks, updates were made to our well-loved audio-enabled picture and nonfiction books. These books are equipped with an attached audio reader, transforming an ordinary print book into an all-in-one read along experience. In addition to updating our highly circulated titles, new titles were acquired to this collection. Since this current collection is well loved by our younger patrons, we expanded by adding audio-enabled chapter books, providing necessary reading accommodations for a wide variety of readers.
